Portrait Retouching Macros
We automatically transfer three portrait retouching techniques (eye recoloring, whitening the eyes, whitening the teeth) to 200 faces. These images were randomly selected from the Faces in the Wild dataset. Next to each pair of input/result images, we report the result of the transfer. We show a checkmark if the transfer is successfull and a crossmark if the transfer fails. Transfer can fail when the face recognition engine incorrectly labels parts of the image and when there are non-spatial context dependencies. Our eye recoloring macro adjusts the hue of the iris and assumes that the target iris is relatively light. Therefore the appropriate manipulation depends on the color of the eye, not just its spatial location. The macro fails for eyes that are too dark.
