Project: Light field montage

Specifics: In this project I investigated (1) Creating light field montages

Background: Montaging of images has been popular for years for artistic, personal, and commercial purposes. Light fields, a 4-dimensional sampling of the plenoptic function, have been in use academically since 1996, when Marc Levoy and Pat Hanrahan wrote the paper "Light Field Rendering". However, soon some form of light fields will become more available to the general user when the Lytro commercial camera hits the markets. Now is a good time to develop new tools and develop techniques for manipulating light fields.
